Bruce Clark – String Bass & Vocals - Bruce is from the Oxford Ohio area and has been “Knee Deep in Bluegrass” since 1999. Bruce is one of the original founding members of Retread. In addition to his strong vocals and rock solid bass, Bruce also keeps busy with engraving, hand crafting mandolins, guitars, hunting bows, and his recording studio. He enjoys time with his family, and does just about anything else he decides to do if Pauline let’s him! Dan Cozens – Banjo & Vocals - Dan joined Retread in the fall of 2005. He is a transplanted Canadian and came to the Cincinnati area in 1999 via Tyler, Texas. He played and taught guitar for many years in Canada, but after moving his family to Texas, became intrigued by the banjo. Classical music is in his family. Both of his brothers are professional musicians in Canada but “bluegrass with style” is Dan’s passion.
Eric Lawrence – Guitar & Vocals Eric resides in Cold Spring, Kentucky, and joined Retread in October 2004. Eric enjoys playing and singing all kinds of music including blues, jazz, rock 'n roll, old time country (no, not the new stuff), and even choral music, but bluegrass is his true passion. He enjoys helping out with the vocal arrangements in the band, and handling the technology/social networking for the band. When not playing bluegrass, he is working his techie day job and spending time with his growing family.
Dave Seagram - Mandolin & Vocals - Originally from Canada, Dave is the other original founding member of Retread and lives in Kenwood Ohio. After 28 years with Procter & Gamble, Dave decided to spend more time with music and has been active with Retread since the band’s inception. When not busy with Retread, Dave is active at church with sound and AV, sings in the choir, and is spending more quality time with his wife. Dave proudly plays a Bruce Clark 2006 F-5 mandolin.
Vince Phelan - Fiddle - Vince lives in Cincinnati and brings some "Classical Class" to Retread, He's the concertmaster of the Middletown Symphony Orchestra. He earned his Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Vince and his wife Elizabeth, are the directors of the Corryville Suzuki Project, a program that teaches violin and fiddle to children beginning at age four. Vince is also a professor of violin at God's Bible College, Mt Auburn. He was Retread's full time fiddler from 2005 to early 2010 and did all the fiddle tracks on the "No Detours!" CD.
